A couple of weeks ago ,my Dear Husband and I were watching a classic cartoon ,called Bambi.
Most of you are familiar with the Story I’m sure of the little fawn who loses his Mother in the forest by a hunter.”that’s the sad part of the story”As I was watching that movie a Thought came to my heart ,where has all the innocence gone in this world.
I look back at the time when that cartoon was created and the values portrayed in the cartoon are certainly something to see and reflect upon .If only the generations of mankind would have held onto the teachings of God’s Holy Word,I think we would have a different view of Life in our society today.
There was a part in the movie where the fawn Bambi was born and he was having a very difficult time learning how to stand on his four legs, and Thumper the rabbit, who always had a word to share would say things that could hurt the feelings of the little fawn. When ever Thumper the rabbit would say things, his Mother would lovlely rebuke him and say now what did your Father say about that, and Thumper would bashfully reply.
”If you can’t say any thing nice, than don’t say any thing at all”. How those words need to be heeded in a society today ,where morals and the values are declining in families and the generations that are following us.
We as Christian’s are called to be a Light bearer to the Beauty and Truth of Jesus Christ’s Love.Do you and I heed that little comment. I hope I’m learning more in this lifetime to use my words to edify and encourage others with the gifts and talents and the unique creation of God that they are.I know that we can not agree upon issues that the Holy Bible clearly defines as sin with a lost world, but we can be a messenger of light to help them find the Way to God’s Loving Merciful Heart.
I really believe if the things in life are looked at through our Father’s Words, that He will use our mouths, hands ,and feet for the furtherance His Kingdom and for our eternal good. So the next time you and I have a moment when something from our mouths want jump out ,let us take heed to the Apostle James words”Who can tame the tongue?” and with that I reply we can by God’s Grace as we pray for strength to use our words as a Blessing to others.
There is great power in our words, they do not have the power to speak things in to existence or create a healing or miracle against God’s Sovereign Will, but when they are inline with God’s will for our lives and the lives of our family and neigbours they will bring God’s healing and Love to the Broken hearted soul and encourage a weary pilgrim on their journey,or inspire a Dream. We all need to have a vision and a Dream to fullfil God’s Great command to go into all the world and make disciples.
Let us continue to hold fast to God’s Holy Word, and in the power of the Holy Spirit; let our words be like apples of gold in settings of silver.
Proverbs 25:11
A word aptly spoken is like
Apples of gold in settings of
silver.
Yes, "there is great power in our words" and there is great truth, beauty, and inspiration in your words, Dee! You open yourself to God so that He can use you as His special 'tool' and share His love with every stroke of your 'pen' (keyboard). Love and blessings! Peggy
