A lesson in life through a child's cartoon
"A lesson in life through a child's cartoon"
A couple of weeks ago ,my Dear Husband and I were watching a classic cartoon ,called Bambi.
Most of you are familiar with the Story Iím sure of the little fawn who loses his Mother in the forest by a hunter.Ēthatís the sad part of the storyĒAs I was watching that movie a Thought came to my heart ,where has all the innocence gone in this world.
I look back at the time when that cartoon was created and the values portrayed in the cartoon are certainly something to see and reflect upon .If only the generations of mankind would have held onto the teachings of Godís Holy Word,I think we would have a different view of Life in our society today.
There was a part in the movie where the fawn Bambi was born and he was having a very difficult time learning how to stand on his four legs, and Thumper the rabbit, who always had a word to share would say things that could hurt the feelings of the little fawn. When ever Thumper the rabbit would say things, his Mother would lovlely rebuke him and say now what did your Father say about that, and Thumper would bashfully reply.
ĒIf you canít say any thing nice, than donít say any thing at allĒ. How those words need to be heeded in a society today ,where morals and the values are declining in families and the generations that are following us.
We as Christianís are called to be a Light bearer to the Beauty and Truth of Jesus Christís Love.Do you and I heed that little comment. I hope Iím learning more in this lifetime to use my words to edify and encourage others with the gifts and talents and the unique creation of God that they are.I know that we can not agree upon issues that the Holy Bible clearly defines as sin with a lost world, but we can be a messenger of light to help them find the Way to Godís Loving Merciful Heart.
I really believe if the things in life are looked at through our Fatherís Words, that He will use our mouths, hands ,and feet for the furtherance His Kingdom and for our eternal good. So the next time you and I have a moment when something from our mouths want jump out ,let us take heed to the Apostle James wordsĒWho can tame the tongue?Ē and with that I reply we can by Godís Grace as we pray for strength to use our words as a Blessing to others.
There is great power in our words, they do not have the power to speak things in to existence or create a healing or miracle against Godís Sovereign Will, but when they are inline with Godís will for our lives and the lives of our family and neigbours they will bring Godís healing and Love to the Broken hearted soul and encourage a weary pilgrim on their journey,or inspire a Dream. We all need to have a vision and a Dream to fullfil Godís Great command to go into all the world and make disciples.
Let us continue to hold fast to Godís Holy Word, and in the power of the Holy Spirit; let our words be like apples of gold in settings of silver.
A word aptly spoken is like
Apples of gold in settings of

Yes, "there is great power in our words" and there is great truth, beauty, and inspiration in your words, Dee! You open yourself to God so that He can use you as His special 'tool' and share His love with every stroke of your 'pen' (keyboard). Love and blessings! Peggy
