I'm learnin' some patience with eyes that don't see
All the 'wunnerful' things goin' on aroun' me,
An' with dentures that click as loud as they please,
Then exit my mouth whenever I sneeze!
When hearin' aids whistle, disturbin' a few,
The patience I'm learnin' extends to them, too.
The joints that are rested, yet hurtin' and tired
Have over the years, so much mis'ry 'inspired'...
But they, also, are covered by one simple lesson;
That they're workin' at all? A magnificent blessin'!
So I'm learnin' some patience with life's ups an' downs,
Attemptin' to smile while avoidin' the frowns.
The problems I mention cause moderate strain,
But learnin' some patience...is truly a pain!
