In a society where basically everything is acceptable and where God has been excluded, even subtly in our church services, it is hard to discern leadership, the reason for this is because we have lost character. We are instructed to imitate Christ in all areas of our lives, but we have leaders who are imitating the world by allowing the world to flow into our services, and allowing sin to go uncorrected. Some leaders today are more focused on building big “Mega” churches and what has transpired is, those individuals that are in the upper class membership are sinning and not being rebuked and corrected because they are putting a lot of money into the building fund. Incidentally, they are also being placed in leadership and they are the examples that we are given to follow.
The focus of the leadership in the church has been lost through a collage of distractions and discernment has went out of the window along with the souls of people. This type of leadership brings rebellion from the sons and daughters of God, because they are seeing the truth in leadership and they refuse to submit under such circumstances.
Infants and toddlers only emulate what they see in their parents, they have no other example and that is why parents are told to lead by example. Children and teens display what they have known and learned from their parents and if they get off track, they still have those values instilled in them. Likewise, baby Christians become mature from the impartation of mature and disciplined leaders and when a disciplined life is not displayed, you will either have an immature Christian up and leave the church or you will have undisciplined immature Christians leading in your church.
God desires obedience in those who He has called to lead the flock. So that as sons and daughters of God, we can emulate that same character of Godliness. When rebellion is allowed to continue in the ministry without correction, we open up the door for the spirit of Jezebel to take control; therefore hindering the flow of the Spirit. Sure, the gifts and talents may be in operation, but we will be as sounding brass.
Another scripture to ponder on is, “For the love of money is the root of all evil”. Yes, God wants us to prosper and build bigger storehouses in order to bring in the harvest, but we must remember to focus on the vision not the provision. God’s word says to seek first the kingdom of God and the rest will be established. Where there is true vision, there will be provision, therefore continue in the work in which God has ordained for you and He will give you your desires. Let’s be about God’s business first.

Amen! I am certain that there are multitudes of us who pray for divine insight and discernment in the churches. And it is easy to see that it is a common thing. It is heartbreaking and a burden for many of us. May the Lord create a wide awakening to break forth through the churches!!!
