God has blessed so many of us in the area of finances and his only requirement to us is that we give 10% back to him. When I think of that amount it really is a very small amount compared to what he allows me to have.
Let's think of this in actual cash. If God has blessed me with $1,000.00, he ask that I give only $100.00 of that amount to him. He could have asked me for $200.00 which would be 20%, but he only asked for a tenth.
Many of us as children of God, has robbed God on a weekly basis, we come into the house of God and instead of giving him his tithing, we give God whatever we pull out of our bags or our pockets. God forgive us.
Our loving father has blessed us with health, he has blessed us with finances and so many other earthly blessings. When you stop to think, we really don't deserve it, but God through his lovingkindness has seen fit to bless us and yet the very thing that he has blessed us with, we withhold from him. The word of the Lord says, "there is no good thing that our father withholds from his children." Yet, we as his children are withholding God blessing us even more then he has, because we have been stingy with God.
As children of God, I pray we will realize that God can dry up the very blessings that he is giving us. I pray our hearts will allow God to come in and speak to areas such as this, so that God will continue to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings that we have no room to contain.

True, Carol, God does tell us to give ten per cent. What is important is the spirit in which we give. "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Cor 9:7. Not under compulsion by the pastor either.
