The City of Matrimony
Charters, declarations and constitutions build cities;
Covenants however are the foundation for empires.
Blood drawn,
Hands clasped,
Vows exchanged,
Promises made,
Names penned.
Two limbs grafted and bound,
Tied together by love.
Storms rage,
Drought hardens,
Cold fractures,
Heat withers,
Spring reminds.
Bindings are lost in living;
Absorbed by growth and change.
Now stands a strong tower
Roots have deepened,
Foundations shored,
Boughs reflect the Glory,
Generations bearing fruit.
An oak is now the watchtower.
Watching builds a city.
Oh, you climber of heights
And observation decks
Made of sticks and pinion feathers.
Prophesy, intercede, rebuke, restore, rebuild
For a city watches you.
A light burns bright.
Strength is drawn,
Comfort seized,
Defense rallies,
To you who has Power, our respect.
Your great Strength influences us.
Honor is due your timeless endurance.
