Terminal Illness

"A terminal illness", the doctor said,
"You should have died long ago".
And yet I live.
Now every day is a gift
An opportunity to live,
To make a difference
Before it is too late.
So I wake up each morning
Never knowing if this day will be my last.

The terminal illness that we have is sin;
We should already be dead.
And yet we live because of Jesus.
We do not know how long we will live
Or when we will die.
But God gives us each new day
As a gift and opportunity.
Each day could be our last.
So how will we use it?
