'Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates'

I was thinking this morning of what Forest Gump said in that movie, that 'Life is like a box of chocolates'.... and thinking that is really so true; and half of the pleasure in receiving a box is the anticipation before the lid is even raised to see what's inside.

The box is always so pretty, its promise so rich and true, that you see in your minds eye each confection inside before it even comes into view.

The fragrance wafts up and tickles your senses, and anticipation is heightened in response, so that you can hardly wait to lift off the top and choose one of those treats from inside.

I think of each day with you just like that, a chocolate I can pick from the box - one given brand new each day from God above, one I get to share with you.

And when I awake, the fragrance of the new day is fresh as rain, surrounding me like new fallen dew.... and I anticipate before I even get up what delights await in this new day with you.

As the day goes on, the box is lifted and I can see just a bit of what lies in store, and choose which lovely confection of loving words and deeds I can share - who indeed could ask for anything more?

No matter the flavor of the chocolate each day, it is enough to know that flavor is yours and mine today, and we taste it to the fullest, enjoying each bite, the joy we share is more than words could ever say.

I thank God for the gift, the box of chocolates that is our life, and for the treasures He has hidden inside, for the love I have in you, discovered anew each and every day, you are forever my groom and I your bride!
