Help me, Lord, to understand
Why the wicked easily build beautiful castles in the sand
While the righteous work so laboriously
To carve humble homes in humility
As we look out across the way
We see the wicked romp and play
While on we toil with sweat and pain
Seems to be little more we’ve gained
Then the horizon darkens with a threatening storm
The wicked run into their castles to keep dry and warm
Still we work right up to the end
Till the clouds are upon us and the storm rolls in
The rain comes pounding down
The wind howls furiously all around
In our humble homes on this Rock we hide
Kept safe from the raging storm outside
The tempest wanes and we emerge
To find the wicked lost in the surge
No more do we envy beautiful castles in the sand
Our homes on the Rock continue to stand!

This poem is beautifully written, well phrased and the words carefully chosen.
It depicts the two worlds, the righteous verses the wicked. It's very true.
Keep up the good work
You did a beautiful job on this Cyndi. Yes, the foolish build upon the sand, while upon the solid Rock we stand. He keeps us from being washed away that is for sure. Blessings, Sharon
