We can look in the dictionary for a definition on love, but nothing describes love better than the Word of God. Search any concordance for the word ‘love’ and you will find pages of scriptures that illustrate its meaning.
Are we an example of true love? If we walk with Him, then the definition of true love should flow from our hearts and spill out of our mouths.
Our very beings should exude the love that dwells within us. All of God’s creation should be able to look at us and see our joy in knowing we are loved. Our witness should be based on the love that we received. Our actions should come forth because of the love that lives in us. Our homes, jobs, churches and neighborhoods should be blessed because of this gracious love.
God’s love goes beyond what we could ever imagine, and it is ours for the taking: but He intends for us to use this gift wisely. No way can we love one person and hate the other if we say our love comes from the Lord who sits high and looks low. The love of God does not work that way. Read 1John 4:20-21.
Jesus commanded us to love each other. In John 13:35, Jesus states He wants us to love others, just as He has loved us.
Keep in mind, too, that as ambassadors of Heaven, we represent an awesome, gentle, and loving God who, in His triune form, is love.
God loves us so much, that before the beginning of time, He set forth His son to be the Sacrifice, the Source of reconciliation, for sinful man to return to His merciful embrace. Jesus loves us so much that He agreed to be that Sacrifice: The Lamb who would be slain for our sinfulness.
The Holy Spirit loves us so much that He daily guides us so we don’t make wrong decisions, something we can easily do without Divine direction.
Consider, also, that God so loves us that we are the temple in which He chooses to reside. Read Corinthians 3:16-17 and I Corinthians 6:19
When we begin to fathom the depth of God’s love we can’t help but see ourselves in a different light. To do anything less would be a slap to God’s face.
My friends, we are the apples of His eye and an inheritance full of Spiritual wealth is ours to receive. Jesus came to allow us to have abundant lives, filled with God’s Glory (John 10:10). He came so we could experience the True Love of God through reconciliation.
We are blessed because we have the opportunity to be healed by this Love. We have a chance to let go of all of our fear and inhibitions so that we can be made complete in this love.
And finally, fear cannot co-exist with this love. Perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect. (1 John 4:18)
I am ready to be healed and made whole by this Awesome Love that is available to everyone. With God’s love, we can conquer all, and nothing can separate us from Him.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written: “For your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” (re :Psalms 44:22)
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)
