Comfort Zone

Lord I desire to be at peace
In comfort, sitting under a tree
Or walking out on a lonely moor
Experiencing the wonder of your creation

And yet Jesus you drive me
Into the city streets
Surrounded by the hurting and the needy
Those I will never meet
And those that I encounter daily.

Show me your ways O Lord
Teach me to follow your paths.
To talk when I would rather be silent
To reach out to those I would rather ignore.

Take me out of my comfort zone,
Into the place where you lead.
Teach me not to fear but to trust.
Teach me obedience to your call.

For if I will not go, who will?
If I hold back, suffering will not end.
Drive me on Lord,
Into the place where you are.
