As I headed down the driveway for my morning jog, I was struck by how beautiful the farm areas of Shawnee, Oklahoma actually are. The sun had not risen just yet, the leaves were green with a few clouds scattered off mainly, it seemed, on the eastern horizon. All appeared wondrous! What took my breath away were dew drops that sparkled in the early morning sunlight.
I bent down to look at a blade of grass. There it was! A spider working, spinning her web between that blade of grass down from a nearby rose bush. The now geometric web had caught a plethora of dew drops which made it look like a pentagon breaking the reflective sunlight as the sun slowly rose over the eastern sky. I couldn’t wait to come back from my run to show my wife. However, when I returned some forty-five minutes later, the dew drops had completely vanished.
Or had they? I walked closer. I saw that the dew droplets still clung to the web. However, the sunlight no longer struck the web so that the diamond-like appearance was no longer visible. The dew drops were there but the conditions made it impossible to be seen.
It is written in the Bible that we are surrounded by the messengers of God (His angels). Yet, in reality, rarely has anyone actually seen an angel. After my experience with the sparkling dew drops on our lawn, I believe I understand a little better how this can be. Angels are surrounding us always even though the conditions are sometimes not conducive for us to see their presence!

Starting off talking about a morning jog roped me right in. I am a runner, myself. But it was your good writing that kept me reading. A very good short piece.
