A boy about ten went to church on Sunday,
Growing and learning how to live God's way.
He tried to escape from his daily hell,
His parents abused him, he never would tell.
His mother would drink 'til he saw her pass out,
His father got high, and would throw him about.
Sometimes they'd fight, leaving blood all around,
He'd hide behind doors, so he wouldn't be found.
He'd pray for the strength to make it to class,
A place he knew God would protect him from wrath.
He was quiet and timid, but so full of life,
Why did his parents always have to fight?
He'd go home each day with nothing to eat,
If his parents were home, he knew he'd be beat.
His prayers to the Heaven's were humble and true,
He wanted so much to make his parent's life new.
For years that were passing, he struggled each day,
For God would one day tell him, how to show them the way.
It wasn't too long before he had to go home,
He found them both lying on the floor all alone.
His mother was breathing, but blood trickled down,
His father was moaning, he'd been shot all around.
He called for help, then stood by their sides,
He asked God for mercy on both of their lives,
He told them about God and his loving way,
He prayed with them softly right where they lay.
They said they were sorry for treating him bad,
Promised to change if another chance they had.
Both of his parents lived a long life,
Thanks to their son, who laid down his strife.
He told them of Jesus, he promised he would,
They made up for years that were not so good.
For God is of mercy, their sins were so meek,
He witnessed to them, helped them that were weak.
Our God, he is the one and only way,
To make it to Heaven, for there we will stay.
So witness for him, help lead the lost souls,
He saves us, loves us and makes us whole.
