Especially for you I came
From Heaven to the earth;
Predestined as your sacrifice
The purpose of My birth.

I willingly laid down My Life
To bridge this great divide;
That man created on the day
By choice, his spirit died.

I saw and understood the need
For those left in despair;
For those who’ve wondered where was God
And does He really care.

And as I hung upon that cross
I whispered out your name;
I poured My Love through sacrifice
As I became your shame.

I took your sin upon Myself
Each fault as it were Mine;
Became Redemption’s story for
The Hope of all mankind;

The Crown of Thorns placed on My Head
Each punch and every hit;
Was taken as your punishment
As tears mixed with their spit.

Each blow and stripe upon My Back
The blood that dripped and flowed;
Became the avenue of Hope
For life I have bestowed.

Each nail that pierced My hands and feet
Resounded victory;
And when I cried out with My voice
My life then ceased to be.

Yet death could not contain Me and
I rose to live again;
I took the keys to death and hell
I conquered all your sin.

And all that I require of you
Within your heart receive;
Accept what I have done for you
My child, simply believe.

And still, I would have come to earth
Endured Salvation’s cross;
If you had been the only one
Your heart is worth the cost.

I would have left My Throne above
To walk in human shoes;
So I could be your Sacrifice
And you’d have life to choose.
