“The sky is falling, the sky is falling,” I heard them say. I laughed in jest
until it all came crashing down. The rubble caved in upon me making
breathing difficult. It was challenging to see through the thick fog.
We’ve all been there before. Someone catches us off guard and the rug is
pulled from beneath our feet. Something as simple as standing is not so
easy anymore, not in our own strength. We find that strength is in the
Solid Rock, our firm foundation.
Jesus felt a weight of another magnitude when He prayed in the garden.
He was in agony. The garden is a place full of beautiful roses, but there are
also thorns that pierce us. To experience the Light, we must know darkness.
For joy to have meaning, we must have known sorrow.
The deserts, valleys and wilderness are on the pathway as we journey toward
the mountain. There is so much to learn on this journey. There are times
when it is easier to rest in Him and trust that there is a future of hope. At other
times it takes a deeper level of faith to keep believing for the best. Through
the storms that rage and rain pouring down, deeper faith and character are being
formed in the vessel. This is a slow process which takes much time.
Oh, my blessed sister, how well I remember seeing my world crumble around me, "the sky falling," the earth-shattering test of faith in which it was all I could do to cling to Hope. He has promised to carry us through the fire AND the rain, to be there with us through the depths AND the heights, heaven AND hell. It is most unfortunate, but we have to experience them all at some point in our lives. We are fortunate indeed if we have to experience our "hell" now (on earth) and not in the future. Be strengthened and encouraged. I firmly believe that the Lord has made something quite beautiful indeed from my ashes. And He isn't anywhere near finished with me. Oh, how you are going to SHINE, SHINE, SHINE for Him!!!!!!! As much as you shine right now, this day, even in the midst of the storms, I can only imagine how you will shine when they pass!!!!!!! (Psalm 139)
The testing of our faith proves His vast and eternal love for His redeemed. It is only in the midst of our valley that we must look up. It is only in the deepest of trials that we will cry out to the most high God. Mitzi, you have inked what so many of us journey through. Thank you for cleaving to His promises and your faith. What a blessing you are!
Very Beautiful Spirit filled moving words from a heart that seeks the Heart of God! You Radiate in Him Precious Sister.Continue in His Amazing Grace. In Jesus Love,Dee:)
"Numbers 6:24,25,26"
Great article of encouragement and inspiration! Once, I had no bed to sleep in for over four years, when I finally got a bed, I was O so thankful. The ordeal was past. That is like the wilderness experience, when it is over, One is so glad. Thanks for sharing.
Jehovah Jireh, God of our hearts, and most loving Father...those times You call us to lay our Isaacs down come. They're hard times, Lord. You know ... Your precious Lamb gave His all. In His strength and Your grace we, too, walk this testing times into Your love. Be our living water and our daily manna, though the sands may scorch our feet. Help us to remember to rest within the shadow of Your wing.
Amen Mitzi, may He help us stand firm and endure the testing. I read,"If you were to place a rough diamond next to a polished one, you may not even be able to tell they are actually the same stone. It is the cutter's skill that releases the beauty."
I believe things at times rub us the wrong way, for He is polishing and cutting us into a beautiful gem! You are already a beautiful gem.
Love, Sharon
