Bind his wounds with new-fallen tears
Whose dreams fall prey to mortal fears
Or deaf upon unlistening ears
Or blind to an unseeing seer
Shower him with heart-felt psalms
A simple shepherd's praise in song
To sooth the soul of he that longs
To find out where the dream has gone
Hold the lamp to light his way
As dreams soon fade
With light of day
Illuminate the vision there
Ensconced in childish bedtime prayer
Bind his wounds, then hold him close
Show him love, then watch him grow
Bring the balm of Christ to man
Envisioned in the master plan
Seek his heart and dreams to share
Enfolded then, an answered prayer
No more to walk this world alone
In his brother's care, safely home
