When they were afraid you said, "Come, it is I." You who walked on the water and calmed the sea, you who stopped the raging tide, you are with me.
The current is uncertain but yet I float along, not sure of where I'm going or how long I'll be gone. I'm confused but yet I know that wherever I end up you who calmed the angry storm will guide me with your love.
O Controller of the raging sea in all your majesty come save me from the undertow, help me walk to thee. I'll fix my eyes upon your face, never looking down and trust that you in all your grace will never let me drown.
They fished all day, to no avail, their nets remained empty. Until they hung their heads and cried, lost in their own pity. Then in the darkness there you were pleading with your eyes, "Lay down your nets another time. Watch and be surprised."
O Father of the hungry heart come fill me with your word. Surround my soul with your sweet voice, just waiting to be heard. I'll listen for your gentle call and run straight into your arms, rejoicing in the priviledge of being called your child.
I have no cause to be afraid, your love hides me in your wings. For I have the promise that in Christ alone I can do all things.
O Mover of the wind and waves, you calmed the raging storm. Come lay your peace on my cold heart. Come and make me warm. I'll fix my eyes upon your face and drop the nets at sea knowing that abundant life waits on the shore for me.
