She walked through the room
Feeling ashamed and disgraced
For she could not bear to see
His disappointed face
She felt dirty and worthless
Filled with shame
She committed the sin
That could drive her insane
She gave up the most precious gift
The gift of life
That came from inside her womb
One terrible night
Lord, I did not know what to do
I could not face the stares
The looks that would disapprove
My life was suppose to be surrendered to you
I could not let people know that I could fail too
Lord I am so selfish, my life is in disarray
I think about that child that I gave up that day
Forgive me father.... I will do what it takes
I will do anything
Just for one glimpse of your face
She fell to her knees
Her heart was too overwhelmed with pain
If only he would call out my unholy name....
"My daughter, now that you have confessed
Turn from your sin and
Know that it is lost in the sea of forgetfulness
Understand that I do not condone sin
But, I do want to lead you back
To my throne room again"
She lay prostrate at the alter
Filled with praise
For her life would never be the same
Her life will not be simple
She will need counsel and faith
But, she will reach her destiny
With God's unmerited grace and
The gift of forgiveness
That was presented that day
