As singles, many of us spend our lives looking for the person, who is right for us, the one the Lord has who is all we’ve ever dreamed of. They’ll have all the right everything and tailor-made for us. We look for right outward features, cause we feel if our ‘eyes’ were pleased first, everything else would fall in line with our wishes. However, today most of us have been through a relationship or two, we’ve matured and learned some sound lessons about choosing a mate.
Being Christian men and women, our expectations for relationships and lifetime mates must be higher than the world. A union entered in before the Lord’s timing or prepared season can cause a traumatic setback for you emotionally. The results of its wrong timing can totally alter your feelings for becoming involved again, causing you to ‘miss’ your season and the mate the Lord’s predestined for your life.
Many times we suffer, disappointments and heartaches because we failed to consult God for our decision or we ignore what He’s telling us because it isn’t what ‘we’ want to hear. Do we really know who we are in Christ if we’d rather accept less than His best for a relationship just to say, ‘I’ve got somebody’ regardless of the fact, it may be the ‘wrong’ somebody? What does God think of His son or daughter who shows Him they don’t trust Him long enough to wait for His decision? God sees the entire picture for your life He desires the spiritual direction for you both be in His perfect will and has harmony so serving Him is not a strain. You’ll both be headed in His direction and will for the relationship. It seems many of us don’t have patience to wait, we attempt to handle this portion of our life on our own as if we wouldn’t need God’s divine direction here as opposed to any other area of our lives. We trust Him completely in all things or we don’t; it’s one or the other, but not ‘both’.
Every Christian should realize when you find everlasting love with the Lord is when you truly find your love for a lifetime. You’ll be totally fulfilled and completely satisfied with the love that the Lord has for you and until you find that level in Him, will you truly be ready for a lifetime companion. The Lord desires to take you to this place in Him so you will know ‘how to’ love the mate He’ll send you. God takes you through the many stages of love with Him to prepare you for a godly love with His mate for you.
Christ loves us for a ‘lifetime’, His love is everlasting, it blankets us and covers the faults that we have as it says in I Peter 4:8, ‘And above all things have fervent love among yourselves for love covers a multitude of sins’. If we are to be Christ-like, we must love as He loves, our love must be unconditional and on going, it must display the fruit of the Spirit, which will cover shortcomings. God loves us just as we are, but the way He loves and the magnitude of His love invokes us to change. God’s love is always right, it ministers and satisfies every area of need we have in our lives. His love never goes away; it is always here for us whether we’re in, out or in between relationships. It sustains us as we recover from wounds of a broken relationship, as we trust Him to give us His best for our life.
Who would want to be separated from the most ‘perfect love’ for a lifetime that’s guaranteed to last as long as you live? Have you found this special love yet?
