Two boys from different family background, one white
other black grow up together in Idaho. The white boy
comes from an unstable family full of strife’s. The
other black boy Troy grows up from a Christian
oriented family line.
At a tender age they both accept Christ at a young
age. The boys have ambition the white boy wants to be
a pastor the white boy wants to be a baseball player.
In growing up they face challenges. Robert the white
lad is constantly beaten and abused by his intoxicated
parents who are addicts. He even hustles drugs for
food.
He is constantly crying and thinks God does not care
and nearly doubts GOD but his Salvation is sustained
by Christ due to the crazy wicked environment he is
around. But his friend Troy encourages and comforts
him. Also a not so good looking guy in the hood always
encourages him not to give up on Christ as HE can give
him his’ hearts desires and to forgive his deranged
parents.
In schooling they are ridiculed for being born again
Christians and are viewed as not being cool. They
struggle to hold onto Salvation due to ridicule
bullies and peer pressure. For Robert it is worse due
to issues at home but Troy comforts him when he faces
persecution from his parents due to his stand. He
sometimes gets angry and retorts to Troy "do you know
what it is to have unruly crazy parents yet i have to
follow Christ who I do not even see but that i will."
Years later after both holding on to Christ, Jesus
gives them their hearts desires Robert is a baseball
player Troy is a Pastor. Both face their past
forgiving all those who bullied them in the past in
schooling and for Robert the hard part is to forgive
his parents introduce them to Christ.
The whole script is about forgiveness humbling one
self and trusting Christ to give you your heart
desires for HE is faithful.
