Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom come, what a glorious thought, the kingdom of God reigning across the nations, the church aflame, the earth at peace and the name of Jesus exalted of all mankind.

Is it Pie in the sky by and by? No; Christ reigns right now, he reigns over all the earth, ‘all power in heaven and in earth has been given unto him’ (Matthew 28:18) he is not waiting for victory to be proclaimed for he himself shouted it out for the whole world to hear ‘it is finished’ (John 19:30)

He took on the world, the flesh and the devil and made a show of them openly (Colossians 2:15) he has stepped off the battle field and wears the victor’s crown, his enemy and ours was defeated so badly that he has no power over any one that is in Christ.

Christ has no more victories to win, no more enemies to overcome, no more giants to defeat, Christ rules as the supreme personality in the universe, there is no one who can match his worth, no one can ever overcome the over-comer or defeat heavens all conquering champion.
It saddens me to hear believers who speak of Satan as though he has power to control their lives, as though he directs their paths, listen we are not pigs with rings in our nose so that Satan can take us what way he will, we are the sons and daughters of God.
Satan has no authority, no power over any true believer, he cannot touch the Lords anointed nor do His prophets harm (Psalm 105:15) he has about much power as an engine without fuel, as steam that’s gone cold, or an electric light bulb that’s not switched on.

Christ reigns over all the earth; he reigns in the darkest depths of human despair, he reigns in the wilderness that many experience, he reigns in the desert places many choose to thread through their lack of knowledge of Gods word and his will for their lives. In him the whole of creation has its being, every breath; every sound is a gift from Christ, every smile and every tear drop originated in his heart first. He is universally supreme, he is Lord of all, and there is none with a higher name, none that can boast of any victory in any place.

Christ is seated at Gods right hand in the heavenly places, ‘far above all principality, and power and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come’ ‘God has put all things under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church’ (Ephesians 1:20-22)
The almighty God is just that; he is ‘Almighty’ He is our ‘defence’ (Job 22:25) he is our protection and shelter (Psalm 91:1) who can match him in power? Who can overcome him in battle? Who could deliver you out of his hand?

It is the Almighty, the Lord of all creation, the all sufficient God of our salvation that has earned the right to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords; he earned his victory through the cross, is not the Lamb of God worthy to receive the reward for his sufferings?
We don’t serve a dead God; no man ever fashioned him out of stone or wood, unlike any statue he has eyes that see and ears that hear, he has a heart that is touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15)

The most beautiful of statues, the greatest of paintings of Christ can never touch the human heart or heal a wounded spirit but Christ can, a statue cannot reach out to touch with divine warmth but Christ can and his hand of love heals all who grasp it.

‘The Lord he is the God’ (1 Kings 18:39) and it was Christ who taught the disciples to pray that ‘his kingdom come’ and that ‘his will be done’ not in heaven but here on earth, in our homes, in our villages, our town and cities and above all in our hearts. His will is being done in heaven, he already reigns in that wonderful place as Lord of all, and so he was speaking of the here and now where he reigns as the all conquering champion of our faith.

Christ already wears the victor’s crown, all power in heaven and earth is already his (Matthew 28:18) he has no more battles to win, no more enemies to defeat and neither do ‘we who are his body the fullness of him that fills all in all’ (Ephesians 1:23)

Christ is the ‘Captain of the Lord of Hosts’ (Joshua 5:14) and the Lord is on our side,’ If God be for us who can be against us’ (Romans 8:31) We were not born again just so that we could be forgiven and get to heaven, we were born again to rule as kings in this life (1 Corinthians 4 verse 8) We were born again to speak to mountains which plague the lives of the lost and to set men free, we were given a second chance to walk in the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free (Galatians 5 verse 1)
We are called to believe as he believed, to speak with the same authority as he spoke, authority born in our hearts as Heirs and joint Heirs of the kingdom of God in Christ Jesus, (Romans 8 verse 17)

We were called to live a life which mirrors Christ, not the world, we are called to live believing, trusting that when we speak in the name that’s above all names, mountains will bow the knee and be cast down. Mountains of sin, mountains of pain, mountains of sickness and disease every hell bred curse that has dogged humankind since Adam fell under sins grip, all are under Christ’s power and under our feet if we would only believe.

He is the ‘Lion of the tribe of Judah’ and he has prevailed (Revelation 5:5) He is the ‘Mighty God’ and before him there is no other () He’s the ‘Rock of ages’ (1Corinthians 10:4) and the ‘Everlasting father’ (Isaiah 9:6)
How different the sound of his Victorious name is to that spoken of by fools who do not really know their God,

He is ‘the resurrection and the life’ to those facing death (John 11:25) he is the divine ‘healer’ to those suffering from sickness and disease (Exodus 15:26) and he is the ‘health of our countenance’ (Psalm 42:11) He is the one by whose stripes we are already healed (1 Peter 2:24)

He is the ‘righteous Judge’ (2 Timothy 4:8) the ‘atoning victim’ for who took upon himself the sin of the whole world. (1 John 4:10) he is ‘the God of all grace (1 Peter 5:10) and ‘his mercies are new every morning’ (Lamentations 3:22-23) He judges in righteousness (Acts 17:31) Gods ‘righteous servant justifies many because Christ carried our iniquities’ (Isaiah 53:11)

Christ is the ‘Chief Cornerstone’ (Ephesians 2:20) with out whom we would fall back into the pig pen of sin. He is the ‘Bread of life’ (John 6:35) to those hungry and the ‘Living Water’ to those who thirst. (John 4:10) He is the ‘Way’ so that none need get lost in their walk, he is the ‘Truth’ so that no man needs to doubt his word and He is the ‘Life’ so that none may fear death (John 14:16)

Christ is the ‘bright and morning star’ (rev. 22:16) to those who stumble through dark nights and weary days, he is ‘light of the world’ to those who walk in darkness (John 9:5) in him there is neither variableness nor shadow of turning, (James 1:17) he is fully trustworthy, fully reliable, fully faithful. He is a Father to the orphan and a husband to the widow.

Christ’s glorious kingdom is within every believer (Luke 17:21) the whole of the God head bodily lives in Christ and we in Him (Colossians 2:9) that’s why we can be sure of victory, that’s why we are called ‘over-comers and more than conquerors’ (Romans 8:37) ‘Christ in us is our hope of glory’ (Colossians 1:27) and our victory over every foe.
We are not in defeat we ‘are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Heavenly paces in Christ’ (Ephesians 1:3) we ‘are raised up together and are made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus’ (Ephesians 2:6) ‘We are no longer strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God’ (Ephesians 2:19)

We need to stop walking in fear of rejection by the God of our salvation, our salvation is a perfect salvation wrought by a mighty God himself who simply followed his ‘Eden plan’ for now we who were once aliens/strangers are made near by the blood of Christ. (Colossians 1:21) God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)

Christ’s work is complete, the painter of a Godly vision has laid down his brush, the sculptor has ceased from his masterpiece, the builder has folded the plans away and ‘he has sat down at the Fathers right hand until all things are put under his feet’ (Ephesians 1:22)
He ‘has overcome’ (past tense) ‘it is finished’ ‘God ‘has’ made us qualified to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light’ ‘we have been’ delivered from the powers of darkness and ‘we have been’ translated into his kingdom’ He ‘has reconciled us’ ‘we ‘have redemption’ through his blood even the forgiveness of sins’ (Colossians 1:12-14)
We ‘are complete’ in Christ’ we ‘have’ put off the body of sins of the flesh’ by the death of Christ, we ‘have’ been buried with him in baptism’ and we ‘have’ been raised with him’ we ‘have’ been resurrected together with Christ’ having been forgiven all our trespasses. (Colossians 2:10-13)

It’s a done deal so to speak, it’s a finished work, Calvary covers it all, every sin, every sickness and disease, every work of Satan defeated; totally!!
We are not called to strive for our salvation we are called to enter into his rest (Hebrews 4:9-10) we are not called to defeat the devil we are called to enforce the victory won by Christ the Lord of Hosts.

We are not called to work to be accepted, we ‘are accepted in the beloved’ (Ephesians 1:26) we are not called to fear but to faith, we are not called to strive to be chosen, we are ‘chosen from before the foundation of the world’ (Ephesians 1:4) not because of our goodness but because of God’s great love and awesome grace.
Shall we frustrate Gods grace? Shall we be as fools and add to Calvary’s completed work? God forbid;
Were we not sinners when Christ died for us? Did our salvation come by works or by faith? We are His workmanship created ‘unto’ (not through) good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10)
We live and move and have our being in Christ (Acts 17:28) apart from him we can do nothing, what a confidence this brings, what a victory for if we live in him we reign in him (Romans 5:17) what a great salvation, what strength, what joy, what peace these truths bring.

Christ the Creator; ‘all things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made’

We are God's workmanship; we are his work of art, listen; when he stands at his easel he creates masterpieces not scarred and worthless pieces of man made junk. He chooses his colours carefully and every colour in God's painting is just as crucial as all the others, they blend together to produce a work of art that stands supreme in history, his body on earth, you and I.
He ponders over each aspect of our being and each his brushstroke is deliberate and considered. He takes his time because he's creating something that will last for eternity for our God is a master at his craft.

We are his works of art and we should never allow others or the devil to paint a different picture of us, we have been on Gods easel, we are his chosen work so we dare not take up the brush and paint a different picture neither of ourselves, nor of others around us.
He has made us a little lower than the angels and he has crowned us with glory and honour, we are made by him to have dominion over the works of his hands; he has put all things under our feet. (Psalms 8:5-6)
The word ‘angels’ here are from the Hebrew word Elohym, the Almighty God; we were not made lower than angels who are created beings; we were made in the image and likeness of the Almighty God of our salvation. (Genesis 1:26-31)

We were not made to be trampled under the devils feet we were made to rule over him and to have dominion over all the works of Gods hands. God has placed all things under our feet, he has entrusted us with his creation, no other created being carries the breath of the living God nor is there any other living thing that has a soul. (Genesis 2:7)

Christ the Potter:

Can the clay instruct the potter? Is there a man that can divide the sea? Is there one that makes the wind and seas to obey his voice? Is there one that can break the power of the sin that so easily besets him?
Is there one on earth that has power over sickness and death? Can any breathe life into a barren womb or fashion a child out of nothing but love? Can we add to Calvary’s finished work, what such foolishness would accomplish, if not greater darkness and sorrow that when we first believed.
Christ alone is ‘the author and the finisher of our faith’ () he alone is ‘the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world’ ()
God alone ‘delivered us from the powers of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son’ (Colossians 1:13) It’s ‘through the blood of Christ that we have redemption even the forgiveness of sins’ (Colossians 1:14)
Its time to let his kingdom come, to allow Christ to reign in our hearts, to become clean temples for the Holy Spirit, temples of holiness and of righteousness, a setting fit for the King of Kings.
Its time to allow Christ the potter to make of us a new vessel pleasing in his sight, ((Jeremiah 18:4)) not in our own eyes, sure it may many trials but who among us is satisfied with were we are at?
Its time to take a stand and be what we are called to be in Christ, people who know their God and who will do mighty exploits in His name (Daniel 11:32)
Its time to throw the tyrant of unbelief out of the church and to enthrone Christ in his rightful place as head of the church which is his body.

Its time to cry from broken hearts: ‘thy kingdom come Lord!!

A-Men Brother! If the Church would just submit to the word of God and do the will of the Father, what a different world we would be living in! Judgement begins at the house of God and the word plainly states, No man can enter the the kingdom of heaven except he that doeth the will of the Father which is in heaven. SO WAKE UP BRIDE TO BE!

All I can say is praise God for sending you to FaithWriters! I wanted to jump for joy just reading your article. I know I layed down the scepter to my kingdom, (my will) and asked My Savior to become My Lord and king, what a difference it made in my life. I so agree with you that Christ took back everything that the first Adam lost. Looking at Is. 46:10, God says, There is none like me declaring THE END from THE BEGINNING! Then in Is. 45:22-"Look to ME, and BE SAVED, ALL YOU ENDS OF THE EARTH!) Oh that men would get their eyes back on God and off of the situations that bring defeat. Thank you so very much for this wonderful, encouraging, and outstanding article. Blessings, Sharon
