Did You Know?*
Holy Ghost evidence
By Gregory Eckrich
Did you know there is an easily recognized pattern to the gift of the Holy Spirit? It's true.
On the first Pentecost the pattern or evidence for the gift of the Holy Spirit (called tongues, or glossolalia or baptized in the Spirit) was experienced and witnessed: speaking in other tongues.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4 (KJV)
This evidence of the Holy Spirit's gift is repeated again at Cornelius' house where he and all his family and many neighbors are saved by accepting Jesus and then baptized in the Holy Spirit. This conforms to what Jesus told the Apostles:
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 1:5 (KJV)
The pattern is repeated every time the Baptism of the Spirit takes place such as Acts 19:1-6,
Apollus at Corinth.
And now you know.
