Waiting for You

Some days I feel your calming touch,
Gently guiding me.
Then, moments come when I am lost.
I look, but cannot see.

I close my eyes and wonder,
Why do you hide from me?
Why do you choose to step away
So your face I cannot see?

There are times I cannot hear.
There is not a single sound.
I rant and rave you don't respond.
The answers can't be found.

Sometimes I long for a caring touch
And feel so lost and alone.
As I withdraw, I can't feel your love.
Why won't your mercy be shown?

"When your vision is blurred, you cannot see.
When you shout, the sound deafens your ears.
You can't feel my touch if you turn within.
You seem left alone with your fears.

My child, I am here just waiting for you -
My hand is outstretched and secure.
But you have to open your eyes and ears
And reach up with a faith that is sure.

When you open your heart and give me your life,
You will feel such a beautiful peace!
And, gradually, as you focus on me,
Your faith will grow strong and increase."
