We strive so hard to be happy.
We soar to the heights, but then fall.
We're concerned with regaining the good times.
Then, we moan when we can't have it all.
The hard times seek to destroy us
As they hit our most vulnerable spots.
But some people manage to overcome
Without being tied into knots.
They actually seem to feel peaceful
In the midst of the stress and the pain.
They have a lightness about them
And they seem to see sun and not rain.
They focus on God, not their problems.
There's a special joy in their hearts.
And no problem, care or worry
Can dim the joy God's love imparts.
With God, you can always be joyful,
So don't give way to despair.
When happiness comes and then fades away,
God's special joy is still there.

"Numbers 6:24,25,26"
Oh Peggy, how I needed to read this. Shamefully, I focus too hard on my problems and not on Him. May I learn, that in the fires, in the waters, in the blustery uncertainty, my vision should stay fixed on the Captain of my soul and the outward circumstances. By God's grace, I am learning.
