I Got Life
I have been born again, the old man is dead, and its sin nature is also dead. The new man is born through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I used to be a different person, living in a way that was unlike the life that I now live. I used to be ignorant and thrive by the flesh pots of sin. I was insensitive, and self destructive in petty sins, walking with gallant boldness, the foolishness of the fool in the wisdom of their worldly ways. I was all that and more; the man marked to walk that path of ignorance.
But my lord has wisdom like the wisdom of the angel of God to know all things that are on the earth." 2 Samuel 14:20.
Then one day, I woke up, because life came alive in me. Life put to death the dead man living in me. Then the life took its place and I was born again. Born by the Spirit of God that is abroad in the earth, enabled through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to redeem and salvage, saving the lost souls and bringing to life the walking dead.
This is the love of Christ that is roaming the earth, reaching out to heal the sick, the dying and the dead in spirit. The love of Christ that is taking out the spirit of death and the sinful nature and bringing alive the flesh and the soul, as life gains entrance.
It is the Holy Spirit at work in me, who brought me alive in Christ and who lives in me. I owe nothing to man and to man I look not for affirmation. The New man is the man born of the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. To Christ I turn to sing my songs of joy and appreciation for this wonderful gift of life eternal. It is beyond the common sensibility to understand, acknowledge and appreciate.
This life borne on the wings of prayer, delivered by mighty presence and a Holy Spirit, is a life force that has to teach my soul to live the new life. It has enabled a fighting spirit in my soul to retain the Spirit of Holiness. Untouched by the past, for the old and new are not in any way related. They are not interchangeable. Departure from one is not return to the other. The new life is new and it has its own ways. Do not go looking for the living among the dead!
The new life is awareness gained. A mighty presence of God that gains foothold in the free-will and in gaining foothold brings knowledge. The old nature is that, in each person unsaved, is a cycle of the Adamic nature, working its work of futility unto death. Its deceptions torment without cessation, making the unsaved and unwilling a restless soul on a certain path of destruction. That is why those who have entered his rest know that they have broken through to another level of existence. Though the storm is tumultuous without, within, is a quite assurance.
The Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is what has given birth to a new Spirit, the Holy Spirit. The Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is what nourishes and retains this new life. If the soul grows weak because of inadvertent sin, the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ breathes new strength into it. The new life is a life that finds expression within the Holy Spirit and is retained within the Holy Spirit and it is alive for eternity. The old man is dead and gone.
I fight not from a position of the past and its weaknesses to retain a hold unto salvation, no, no, no. I have a new wealth of eternal life that I fight to keep the world from tainting and soiling. I am very conscious of its virtue and its worth. A worthiness measured in the Blood of the Son of God. It is ethereal and eternal. It is a life of such great value that Holy Angels stand watch over it, watching over me Praise the Lord!. Knowing such, why will I deliberately go and cast away such great value to wallow in the filth of the sinful nature and its vileness?
I have a new inheritance in Christ because my Father, my God, my Creator has stripped out the old spirit and in the Blood covenant of the Beloved Son given birth to a new person. So great is the value placed on this new life that I have been insured, to be forgiven, when I drive off the path of life, of light, of righteousness into the undergrowth of the sin that follows, crying its hollow cry of regret of one less to consume.
That sinful nature is a pernicious presence that follows along wailing tears of crocodilian similarities, waiting for another opportunity to enter the house newly swept. A taunting irritation that ought to be cast aside with the disdain and completeness it deserves. It has no hold on the new life purchased by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Worthy is the price that the new life in Christ is.
When I have dented the new life, I have been insured, 70 times, times 70 (do you understand 70 x 70, I will be forgiven, not because grace is available but because, worthy is the price that was paid for my life, and great is the honour in which it is held. If you understand, you will cry with anguish and fear at the sight of sin. You will be torn by deepest regret when you slid off and commit the sin that easily beguiles).
I have insurance so as not to easily cast of that which has waited patiently till I was ready to welcome it.
All the time I wandered, walking the paths of death, darkness and self-destruction, it followed and waited till I recognised Him. Jesus Christ, who followed me and wept at my profligacy. He saw into me and perceived that I was ignorant. My ignorance hurt the son of God. His Holy Presence, the Holy Angels that He sent forth to watch over me, they hurt so badly, when I sinned and sinned and sinned again. How can I express my regret, Jesus my Lover, Lover of my soul, the love of Christ that took the sins of the world upon His Holy Self. I am so sorry.
Salvation was borne by a gentle Spirit; the Holy Spirit of God, sent forth by Christ, till I was ready to receive its impartation. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ. Glory to God.
I have been insured to ask for forgiveness, because I acknowledge this great gift of a loving God, to receive forgiveness and promise to not be reckless and foolish again, in playing idle and dangerous games of foolishness. Not to allow petty sins and trivial pursuits to thrive with such a great gift; a new life. A life of eternity in the presence of Christ. The life of eternal joy, away from all this wickedness, this greed that is self-consuming, this torment that empties life of meaning.
There is a call that cometh from deep within, that cries, "abba", the Spirit in me is the Spirit of the new life. It is sensitive to sin and loving in its compassion, to steer this body and soul towards a purer life. To walk in the paths of righteousness and truth. It is strongly opposed to unrighteousness and injustice. It is constantly giving thanks to the Holy One of Israel, who dwells in holiness and can only be worshipped in truth and holiness. The Spirit is a leading Spirit, that Spirit of Christ that is alive in this new life. It teaches and leads in the right path. The paths of righteousness where I put the other person in my shoes and cry their cries. Their anguish is my anguish and my prayer is the prayer for their relief. True love where I am not pleasing anyone but doing the will of my God and expecting no rewards, I got life.
Gentle Spirit, speaking with gentlest of voices. A quiet impression so deep it cannot be ignored, is the Holy Spirit that teaches me. I am alive, the Spirit of life that leads to life lives in me.
