How blessed our lives will be if we allow ourselves to go to God with open agendas! If we relinquish our own ambitions, plans and desires, as well as our fears, worries and sins, God will replace them with HIS purpose for our lives. It's easy to hand over the "bad stuff," but much more difficult to let go of the "good things." We have to let him take total control of our lives. We cannot just give him part of our load and tell him that we'll take care of the rest. It's all or nothing. And, if we choose "all" we will know a calming peace and a glorious joy that is beyond description! We live in an age where being in control of our lives seems to be one of the most desired and sought-after goals. But if God's truth be known, only by giving our lives to Him can we find the true meaning of life. All our preparations and careful, sometimes obsessive, planning mean nothing unless we are guided by God. We struggle so to "find ourselves" when all we need to do is to find God! How do we do this? We pray and pray and pray some more. We ask him to use us as His instrument so he can, in fact, work through us. When we pray this sincerely, with a heart that is open to God, he will fill up our agendas with His plans, and we will be given new goals, directions and priorities - and the beauty of this is that they will be the RIGHT ONES! This is not to say we won't have work to do. Once we let God take charge, he will! Our lives will be filled to the brim and it won't be simple or easy. But, if we stay focused on God we will be at peace and we will know we are doing what we were put here to accomplish. It is especially important to stay firmly on this path when we're dealing with struggles and painful decisions. If we allow God to steer us, we will not take the wrong road. It will be not be an easy path - but, it will be the RIGHT path.
"…for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every plan and thought.
If you seek him, he will be found by you…"
