Some memories grow sweeter
With time, it seems to me
But sugary delusions
Soon lose their validity
In truth, life happens here and now
Alive in present tense
Life ebbs and flows, it dims and glows
Not always making sense
I capture life in pen and ink
With photographs and paint
But colors find it hard to breathe
Under constant restraint
Captured life is hindered
As a butterfly contained
True beauty is not realized
When wings fold up-restrained
Life is like a butterfly
Beauty revealed in flight
No human hand can captivate
The soulís true inner light
