How did I get here, Lord?
How did I get to this point in my life?
Wrong decisions …
decisions made without You to guide me.
Teach me Your ways.
I order your footsteps my son,
and keep you on the pathway to righteousness.
You made some wrong turns along the way,
but you have fixed your eyes on Me
with the promise to stray no more.
Where do I go from here, Lord?
I am willing to follow You.
I have purposed in my heart to run the race
that leads me to Your mark…to a higher calling.
I am determined not to look back,
except to remember how I got here.
With these thoughts in mind,
I will strengthen my resolve to do it right this time.
Sit with Me and let Me counsel you.
You feel you are alone now.
Acknowledge Me, and I will never abandon you.
There are so many questions …
so many issues that come with a walk
that took the crooked path.
You are so infinitely wise.
My son, I care enough to make the crooked way straight,
even if it means gently rotating the earth
in the palm of My hand to keep you on My path.
What do I do now, Lord?
Walk with Me, and let Me teach You.
Incline your ear to My voice as I give you wisdom.
You will even then fail,
but My mercies are new every day.
Your weaknesses make you all the more useful to Me
for I choose the foolish to confound the wise.
Thank You, Lord.
Humility is the first life lesson.
You must praise Me and be thankful
for every success and failure in your life.
I use these life lessons to shape you into My treasure.
How humbling, yet inspiring it is to know
that I am Your special treasure.
I don’t see myself as someone You can love unconditionally.
I pass judgment on myself and hide my face in shame.
I put on a disguise to mask my true feelings from the world.
Yes, but now I am teaching you to listen
for My voice to encourage you.
My heart longs to bless you in everything you do,
but you are too busy trying to do it all on your own
… so sure of your own ability to get it right
… flirting with temptations.
But ultimately you will fall again,
And I will once again lift you up.
How many times?
Seventy times seventy times a day.
I look at you and see a treasure …
someone worthy of My trust …
a man after My own heart.
I see you as precious.
I see your potential to do great things for My kingdom.
How can this be?
I know my failures …
my weaknesses…
… but I know your strengths
… your ability to triumph through Me.
My son,
you once bore the weight of the world on your shoulders,
bent over and struggling …
convinced you needed no help.
You believed you had it all under control.
But when you collapsed under the weight
and admitted your frailties,
I turned it all around.
I will bring you to the mountain top
and plant you firmly in My plan for your life.
No words can express my gratitude, Lord.
For now, I feel that there is hope …
there is a future.
I give you strength of character
as I conform you into My image on the inside.
I am creating a powerful inner life for you
that will teach you to be still in My presence
and incline your ear to Me.
I will teach you to be at peace amidst the turmoil and uncertainty that is life.
I will instill in you a quite confidence as you learn of Me.
You are in the hands of the great I Am.
I will give you hope for a future that is prosperous and full of the blessings,
which I have promised you as My son.
My covenant is the seal that bonds us together.
For that, Lord, I am eternally grateful.
Seek Me daily … in the little things
… in the difficult decisions.
Yes, Lord.
For I know now that You are my Guiding Light …
and I am Your treasure.
