Dear Abba,
Spring is just around the corner and I am so looking forward to those warmer days when I can get outside, but I do want to thank you for the winter months. I know I don’t do that very often, but I am learning to appreciate them more every year. It is in those months that I lean on You to truly be my “Sonshine”. When I was younger, I use to get in deep depressions about this time of year, longing to be outside, to feel the sun on my face and the soft warm breezes blow through my hair. But now, dear Abba, I have grown to realize that every season is important in the life of one who longs to be all that You created them to be. Like a tree, I need to have that time of rest and reflection. I need to be still and know that You are God of the winters, too. I need to be thankful that I can just rest in You and You will nourish me and get me ready for the new season. If I just allow my roots to grow deep down into You, You will supply all that I need to make me strong and productive for You when spring comes. Lord, thank You that You are making me ready and have given me the winter. Thank You that even in winter You work all things for good. Thank You for Your promise in
Song of Songs 2: 11-13 “See… the winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in the land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blooming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling, my beautiful one, come with Me.”
I will come with You, Abba, for I Love You so much.
Your Child
