Have you ever considered how powerful the verse in Leviticus 17:11 says, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood…” (KJV). How that one little vial of blood can determine the outcome of your life.
I had gone to donate blood a few weeks ago. One Monday night the phone rang with a lab technician stating that I have a Hepatitis B. infection. It took me awhile to grasp the impact of that statement.
Before the end of that week, my regular medical doctor sent me to be re-tested. The test came back with the same information.
As I noticed some scratches on my hand, I realized that I needed to keep this area protected. So there will be no blood-to-blood contact.
All of this came out of a little vial of blood and has changed my life for the time being.
This is when the verse came to mine, “…The life of the flesh is in the blood…”
So I began to think up on this situation from a spiritual perspective.
When we allow the Holy Spirit to do a lab test, he can help us to see the spiritual growth in our lives. That by spending time in God’s Word, this keeps the blood flowing freely.
Yet this spiritual lab test can show. That sin is causing the arteries to clog. Are your “white” blood counts decreasing because of the infection of sin? Are you exhausted and do you have that permanent run down tired feeling. It takes all you have to drag yourself to another Bible study.
So you make an appointment to see Dr. Jesus. He lovingly prescribes the following spiritual prescription.
Admit that there is a high infection of sin. To reduce this infection, you need to spend more time reading God’s Word, which is the “Bread of Life.” Dr. Jesus assures you that He will be right beside of you while going through this process.
As you start in taking His Word. You begin to gradually notice there is a little more spiritual energy. You sense more of His presence and peacefulness.
Then you notice that your heart’s desire is to spend more time with Dr. Jesus. You look forward to your morning sessions. You do feel a cleansing within and things are beginning to look new.
The spiritual cuts become more serious as you realize that blood-to-blood contact can harm others. You become more protective and stay away from sharp sinful situations.
Yet within the next few weeks you feel more of God’s love flowing through you. You desire to share with others what He has done for you through His gift of salvation. He offers the same to your friends and loved ones.
You need to become infectious to those who don’t know the Lord. They need to come in contact with His blood, which washes white as snow.
The next time you have lab work. Remember how important and life changing one little vial of blood can be.
