Why Christians fails to enjoy the blessings of the Lord Almighty?
Beloved members of the Body of Christ, to the Glory of our Heavenly Father and His Son and our Saviour & Lord Jesus Christ, as the Holy Spirit gave me the burden and as per His edifications and revelations I am sharing an article which deals with four major reasons why Christians fail to enjoy the blessings that are been given by Our Lord and Master Christ Jesus. I pray to God that through the reading of this article the glorious plans of our Lord Almighty will come to pass and will help His people to enjoy the blessings that He has poured upon us through Christ Jesus of Nazareth.
(While you read the reasons please apply to every aspects of the life, physical, fiancial, social, psychological, emotional, spiritual and married areas of the life.)
The four major reasons why Christians do not enjoy the blessings of the Lord Almighty are as follows: -
1) Ingratitudness & Unthankfulness -
The first and the foremost reason we often come across the Christians that are unable to enjoy their blessings are due to Ingratitudness and Unthankfulness. Bible clearly says that the “Prosperity of men does not come for any direction but it is the Lord our God who prospers and blesses us.” In the bible the biggest example of Ingratitudness can be found easily in the Old Testament. We read about the Israelites that How Lord Almighty brought them out of Egypt and while He brought them out of the slavery rather then to thank Him and Praise Him they acted corruptly towards Him and they always asked to God to do more miracles and fulfill there daily needs and wants, they were always remembered about there life in Egypt, they always rebelled and raged against the men of God and challenged there authority. They were all busy comparing their present situation with the situation they were in while they were in Egypt, but they didn’t even thank God or showed their gratitude towards the all the miracles and wonderful things He performed while He brought them out of Egypt, they forgot that when they were under the yoke of slavery their Lord heard there cries and He had compassion on them and decided to liberate them by showing His mighty hand of Glory. Not only that Lord also decided them to lead them in the land flowing with milk and honey and while Lord was leading them in that Promised Land they were busy cursing God and always putting Him to test but our Lord is Lord of Love and He provided everything they asked for. And in Deuteronomy 32 when Moses sang a song we find in verse 6 when he says to the Israelites, “Is this the way you repay the Lord, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your creator, who made you and formed you? Moses here reminds and questions the Israelites that they have forgot their creator and rather then to show gratitude towards Him they repaid Him Ingratitudness.
Another major example that can be found about the Unthankfulness is from the Gospel of Luke chapter 17, in which we read about how Christ Jesus healed the ten men who had dreaded skin disease but only one came back praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself to the ground at Jesus feet and thanked him and Jesus said why only one has come back where is the other nine that I healed them? Today Jesus is seeking those nine ones are we one of them??
Today how many Christians does the same what the Israelites had down thousand of years ago and we fail to show our gratitude towards the Lord our God who has blessed us in riches and Glory of Christ Jesus. Today also we find Christian people running after material possession but they fail to recognize that the things that we have in these world are temporary but the everlasting is His Love, Word of God and His Kingdom. How many times we fail to recognize that every good thing we have comes from God and the Bible testifies the same. We boast about the all the things we have but we fail to Honour and show gratitude towards God and so when this happens we fail to enjoy our blessings that are given by the Lord Almighty.
2) Unrepentance and Unfaithfulness: -
The second major reason why we the Christians fail to enjoy the blessings of the Lord is due to unrepentant attitude and unfaithfulness. In the present age where all things are fast and life is fast changing we the Christians are so much busy with the daily life style that we hardly find time to read the Bible and to have communion with the Lord. As we approach the second coming of Christ Jesus the prophecies that are been made for the end times are coming to pass as they are recorded in the epistle of Paul, a letter written to Timothy. In 2 Timothy God has spoken to us through His anointed servant St. Paul that in the last days people will be selfish, greedy, boastful, insulting, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful and irreligious, unkind, merciless, slanderers, violent and fierce, haters of good, swollen with pride, lovers of pleasure rather then God, holders of outward form of religion but deny its real power. All this characteristics are associated with an unrepentant and a stubborn person, and as a society as whole. Jesus Christ while He was been crucified there were two criminals on the both of the sides, Bible records that one of the criminals hanging there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” Luke 23:39 The one who was hurling the insults missed his last opportunity to get saved, he in his entire lifetime did those things that was against the teaching of the God, yet God out of His Grace gave him this last chance to repent and get saved and be with the Lord of Lords and King of Kings for eternity, but he was so stubborn and short-sighted that he was unable to see that the pain and agony that Messiah was going through was for his own sins, transgressions and trespasses, he concentrated upon physical life and materialism only and missed a blessing of eternity and that’s the “Eternal Life”, how many times we the Christians are like the one of the criminal who hurled insults to the Messiah, how we often miss to repent and acknowledge God for His goodness and His Grace and Mercy and for His salvation, rather we have tendency to rate our life’s success on the things we possess physically, but in the sight of the Lord our God it is of no value.
An best example of unfaithfulness is that one of Judas Iscariot one of the most loved disciple of Christ Jesus, he spent three-n-half years with the Lord and our Lord knew from the beginning that one of His disciple will betray, yet He did not denied him neither did He hated him, but Bible records that Jesus while He was having His last supper with His disciples said, “ One who dips his bread in the dish with me will betray me.” Matthew 23 and in verse 25 Judas, the traitor, spoke up, “surely, teacher, you don’t mean me?” he asked. Jesus answered, “So you say.” Judas knew that he was going to be unfaithful to the Lord and it was he who was going to betray his master, but he denied it. So many chances did the Lord provide to Judas to become faithful and thank him, unto that extent while he hanged himself upon a tree. We Christians have tendency to forget the blessings the Lord has given to us, rather we treat our Lord as a, “Jeannie in the bottle” whenever we are in need of some miracle or going through rough hour of our life we go to the Lord and pray and our God who is gracious and compassionate will hear us and give us what we ask off, just because He is patient with us, He loves us and wants us to give yet another chance to be faithful to him, but we have the tendency that as soon as our needs & wants are satisifed by the Lord we walk with our backs to Him and become unfaithful to Him. Beloved are we one of the Judas Iscariot… think over it!!!
3)Grumbling & Murmuring: -
One of most significant cause that is generally seen in our day today Christian life that we often miss enjoying the blessings of the Lord Almighty is grumbling and murmuring. Grumbling and murmuring is the sin that our Lord our God hates the most, it’s the same as the sin of Idolatry and Sin of Rebellion. The best example about the grumbling in the entire new testament can be found recorded in John 6, while Jesus was speaking to the crowd and telling them that they do not follow Him because they understood His miracles but because they ate the bread and had all they wanted. Furthermore in the chapter while explaining the crowds about the eternal bread of life He told them that the bread that Moses gave your ancestors was not from heaven; it is My Father who gives you the real bread from the heaven, the bread that God gives comes down from heaven and gives life to the world, and Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” When Jesus proclaimed this fact to them they started to grumble about Him. How many times we knowingly that God have blessed us we grumble about the blessings He has given to us, how we often question Him and challenge His way and authority to bless us!!! How often Christians are unsatisfied and they start to grumble about the blessings the Lord our God has blessed us with; rather we compare the blessings of the other people with our’s and keep on complaining to the Lord, How often we pray to the Lord and believe for a miracle and when we keep on praying and does not see anything really happening we become frustrate, stop praying, stop going to the presence of God and thereby grieve the Spirit of the Lord, and we fail to recognize and enjoy that what we have is best, friends are we in our conscious and unconscious mind grumbling towards the Lord rather then thanking Him and praising Him for all He has blessed us with.
Murmuring means complaining, while the disciples with the Lord Jesus Christ in a boat were crossing the lake to the other side, suddenly a strong wind blew up, and the waves began to spill over into the boat, so that it was about to fill with water. Jesus was in the back of the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow and the disciples woke him up and said, “ Teacher, don’t you care that we are about to die?” Then Jesus stood up and commanded the wind to be quiet and waves to be still and the wind died down and there was a great calm. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Why are you frightened? Have you still no faith?” (Mark 4:35-41) Today we as Christians while are crossing the sea of life in our boat, when we are neither persecuted or go through rough times or challenges and God blesses us to enjoy His blessings we take it for granted and when suddenly out of the blue the testing times come or when the Satan attacks, when we feel that in our life’s sea there are strong winds blowing and waters are beginning to spill, when everything seems to go wrong or go apart, we start sensing loosing of the blessings of the Lord, how often do we become frustrated and start seeking the help from a human arm and start murmuring to the Lord Almighty that why did He let it happen to me or us? Or where are you while I am going through a lot? We start searching and calling Jesus Christ for the rescue operation while we are ignorant that He is with us in our boats!! And when He hears and rescues us we forget to thank Him and go on living a thankless life and when we encounter same situations in our life we start to murmur against Him!! How little faith we have … are we just hungry for Lord to do all good things for us and doesn’t even bother to thank him. Beloved we have to accept that we are sometimes rather most of the times like the disciples in the boat.. Who had little faith as Jesus our Master told them.
4) Disbelief & Impatience: -
The fourth and the last but not the least reason why we Christians fail to enjoy the blessings of the Lord Almighty is due to disbelief and impatience. Disbelief means doubt, skeptism, and mistrust. Disbelief is the biggest enemy in the life of the Christian through which Satan gets chance to enter into ones life. There are lot of instances in the Bible which deals with the disbelief, in context to a Christians life, disbelief means to not have trust upon the promises of God or upon what the Lord has revealed to us or His servants through His Holy Spirit for our life or for the nourishment of the Body of Christ. Beloved friends let me tell you one thing that when God speaks to us and promises to us certain blessings and we doubt that word from God and keep on reasoning over the revealed will of God or blessing then we fail to receive the promise/blessing of the Lord Almighty. The more time you take to believe and proclaim and thank God for the promises He has made the more it will be delayed for that promise and blessing to be fulfilled or manifested in your life. The best example of the disbelief that has been recorded in the Bible is that of life of Abraham and Sarah. When Lord Almighty spoke to Abraham and promised him to bless him and Sarah with a baby boy, both Abraham and Sarah first had disbelief in the revealed promise of God, rather When Lord Almighty told Abraham that he should no longer call his wife Sarai but Sarah because I (Lord Almighty) will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of the nations; Kings of people will come from her.” Abraham fell face down; he laughed and said to himself, “ Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?” and he demonstrated his lack of belief by suggesting God consider Ishmael as an adequate substitute. (Genesis 17) But our Lord is giver of the promises and keeper of the promises, He never lies to us and the promise what He gave to His servant Abraham came to pass and fulfillment and a son named “Isaac” was born to them. Friends how many times we as Abraham and Sarah bring disbelief about the promises He has given to us and rather then thanking Him and believing Him we laugh at Him and bring disbelief in our hearts. But friends remember that with Lord nothing is Impossible; His thoughts & ways are different then our thoughts and ways, who are we to give Him a suggestion or ask Him a question! Bible says that can clay ask the potter what type of shape has to be given to him or why the potter has shaped me like that, so also Lord says to us who are we to question Him, we just have to receive His commandments and walk in the path of the righteousness, know beloved remember that even though Abraham and Sarah laughed and brought disbelief in there hearts, the Servants of God did not failed to follow the commandments of the Lord Almighty, and this is the Key to the fulfillment of the Lord’s promise to there life.
Impatience is also one of the most major characteristics that we find in the majority of Christians life that abstain them from enjoying the blessings of the Lord Almighty. The best of the examples about impatience is found from the book of 1 Samuel 13. In this chapter we read about how King Saul became impatience and he himself offered the burnt offerings and the fellowship offerings to the Lord Almighty, while the prophet of the Lord Almighty told him to wait upon for him and he will come and offer the burnt & fellowship offerings to the Lord Almighty. King Saul and his people waited for seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul’s men began to quake with fear and they started to scatter and when Saul saw this he himself gave the burnt & fellowship offerings to the Lord and when he was finished doing that, Samuel arrived and Samuel said to Saul, “ You acted foolishly, “ You have not kept the command of the Lord your God gave you, if you had He would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time. But now your kingdom will not endure; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” (1 Samuel 13:7-14) How many times we also as Christians become impatient by seeing and experiencing the circumstances of our life and we decided to do things our rather then what Lord our God has commanded us to say, we fail to discern His voice and calling, His Grace, Mercy and Love and walk after our desires and plan of carnal mind, aren’t we also impatient towards the promises our God has made to us, are we one like Saul who acted impatiently and foolishly and lost his promise what Lord gave to him!!
Beloved one’s after reading all the major characteristics as how Christians fails to enjoy the blessings of the Lord Almighty, one thing is clear and apparent that the all the four are interlinked with each other as one happens so does the other starts to happen in our life and we fail to enjoy the blessing of the Lord Almighty. It might be possible that you will be blessed by the Lord Almighty in all the area’s of your life but still you have emptiness and hollowness in your heart &mind and your family, the only reason is that “YOU ARE NOT BORN-AGAIN” friends to enjoy the spiritual blessings of our Master Jesus Christ, we have to acknowledge Him as our Lord and Saviour and the remember the biggest blessing or miracle is not “PHYSICAL” but it’s “SPIRITUAL” and that is, “SALVATION”, if you miss this blessing of the Lord then it is pity upon us that all though we may every thing in material world but we are most poor in the site of the Lord Almighty, for the Lord says that, “Happy are those who are humble; they will receive what God has promised!” Matthew 5:5 If you are not experiencing Joy, Happiness, peace in your life and that the things you possess by the Grace and mercy of God then, friends, this is the right time to get saved, pls. Prayer this prayer of repentance as an act of faith and be reconciled with your Lord and God and when you will do that in the name of Christ Jesus as His servant I tell you that your attitude & perception towards life of the earth and the blessings God has given to you will be changed, so pls. Prayer of repentance and ask God that if at all you have grieved the Lord due to four major reasons why we fail to enjoy the blessings of the Lord then ask Him for His forgiveness and seek His face.
