As I look at the landscape
Of the scenery of my life
I didn't plan to be here at all
But what other path was there?
There was no other road
As I followed Your call
I didn't ask for the scars
Or the bruises that came
With the cross You gave me
In every cut, every splinter
With Your nature and character
You did engrave me
I could not stop my ears
Or still the beating of my heart
When I heard You call my name
I drew near to the burning bush
And knelt on holy ground
As into my heart You came
I stood on Your mountain
And stepped into the cloud
That I might be with You
I felt the heat of Your fire
Your finger re-writing my soul
Creating me anew
Ask me what You will
Direct my every move
And know that I will obey
I lay aside my childish toys
And worthless shiny trinkets
To walk beside You every day

Beautifully written, Melanie. I read it twice to savor your words and enjoy the vision of walking my own path, then His. Very inspiring. Yours in His name, Karen
Wonderful poetry! Makes me want to sing... and dance... and (yes, this somehow fits in) include Him in my daily chores. It certainly does make life's simple tasks more joyous to have Him as constant Companion. And now, I think I'll dance to "Holy is the Lamb" with my vacuum cleaner. :::wink:::
