it’s funny how we walk around
pretending for the masses
letting them believe the hype
even when our lifestyle clashes
we think they can’t see the pain
that’s tearing our heart and soul
the hurt and frustration in our lives
that terrible black hole
on Sunday we sing, we preach, we dance
we encourage, we smile, we pray
we successfully give the allusion of joy
but who’s really fooled at the end of the day?
it’s time to stop hiding behind the façade
and deal with the turmoil within
only God can redeem us –only his love can heal us
from the darkness, our dungeon of sin
then we’ll be free from the falsity
that pervades and prevails when we’re weak
his grace is sufficient, His mercy divine
And His will for our lives we must seek
