Not long ago my Dear Husband gave me a Beautiful Red rose and while I was putting it into a vase, I almost pricked my finger on it on one of the thorns.I was thinking how can something be so Beautiful and have thorns on it and then I was reminded of our Lord and Saviour and how He wore a crown of thorns upon His Precious Head on the way to Calvary.
As I was placing the vase with the rose in it in a prominent place;I said a prayer and asked the Lord if He wanted me to write about my Anniversary Rose, and I heard that still small voice say to my heart, yes. Well I thought I would write about how Beautiful a rose is and how it reminds me of the Beauty of Jesus. But God had another plan, you see for some reason this rose did not bloom and it has become a wilted rose bud and is being held up by a stem of babies breath.
Yes, when we look at the Life of Jesus,He is called the Man of Sorrows. He was Heaven's Rose who walked amongst humanity and a Sweet scent to all those that embraced His Love and the Scent of the Gospel Message into their lives.
The Rose of Heaven was expected to bloom into greatness; His own followers thought that He was going to defeat the Roman Empire one day, Yet Jesus kept on sharing with them that He was going to die.The Man of Sorrows was going to lay down His Life for His Friends."He said that there was no greater love than this that One lay down His Life for His friends.
Yes, Heaven's Holy Rose was crushed as He was beaten and mocked and nailed to a Tree.
God's Precious Blood did flow for you and for me.
You see Heaven's Rose did not fully bloom until the Third Day when that Rose was Resurrected and Glorified. Now our Lord Jesus Christ wears a Royal Crown where the thorns have been replaced.
Yes, my Rose may have not Blossomed but it has Blessed us beyond words. For that Special Rose reminds us of the Love and Sacrifice of the Man of Sorrows.
