Jesus you became my first love that day you came and found me
A lifetime of being so lost, a lamb so far away from your flock
Jesus your love would day by day gently heal me and set me free
From the worldly love that always kept my heart forever locked
I always seemed to know, somehow, there was so much love inside to share
Praying and submitting to your healing the pain of love I suffered would take time
One day I asked, "Jesus, would there be someone special who would truly care?"
I have walked through many layers of pain to be continually purified and refined
Jesus you have taken this heart who was so afraid to let love in only so far
Teaching me how to love others by the love given of your shed blood on the cross
Allowing your love to flow through my heart and let it shine like the brightest star
To walk in this new creation given, to lift my old life to die on that same cross
One day I was blessed to meet a man who loves you Jesus with all his heart
Who spoke of how your love brought the same blessings of healing in his life
We shared our love for you Jesus and your hands hold our hearts not to part
To love, cherish, respect, honor, trust, and to become one as husband and wife
Thank you Jesus for your gift to us, One Love†Two hearts

I am not sure whether you shared this poem as a testimony only, or you have written more poetry. I like it. However, the lines are too long for poetry (8 beats per line!). There are a lot of poetic elements, and it is easy to see that you could write good poetry (whether you have or not yet). Besides that, on the plus side, you said just what you meant (it really read more like an inspirational article or card), and that is a BIG plus in this age of meaningless scribble. I think you could work on this and take out the uneccessary repitition and "conversational" bridges--like "and'' --and have something more than just a testimony.
