Do you wake each morning with love for a fresh, new day? If possible, would you watch the sun rise and immerse your senses in the beauty and the magnificence of what you are seeing?
How do you wake up in the morning? Is it to the annoying sound of the alarm…
“ MEEP, MEEP, MEEP, MEEP, MEEP “ or is it to the “good” news you hear on the radio or TV?
My husband and I have decided to wake up to the sounds of worship songs or instrumental Christian music. When God is the first thing on our minds, we know that it makes a difference in our day!
Do you have a devotional time in the morning? Can you take some quiet moments reflecting on God’s word? Do you take that occasion to agree and talk to God? Did you receive your “marching orders” for the day?
I am a very musical person. I enjoy good, Christian music. God woke me up with a song on my mind during two very difficult circumstances in my life.
The morning I woke up to know we would be leaving my daughter, who would be going to school 800 miles away from us, the song, In God’s Hands was in my morning thoughts. (From the album Bridges sung by The Isaacs). Here is part of the song.
The storms may rage, the winds may blow, cares of life come against my soul, in troubled times, I know just where to stand, no safer place to be than in God’s hands.
Chorus: In God’s hands, I’m in good hands; my soul is safe and secure. In God’s hands, sweet assurance, it’s good to know I’m in good hands.
Sometimes, it seems a trial last too long, it’s scarcely past and I must face another one, but when I’ve done the very best I can, it’s time to leave it in God’s hands.
I was assured that morning that my daughter was in God’s hands.
The second time was the morning of my mother’s funeral, God woke me up with this song on my mind, Were It Not For Grace (From the album First Love, sung by Larnelle Harris). The chorus was what I woke to.
Were it not for grace, I can tell you where I’d be, wandering down some pointless road to nowhere, with my salvation up to me. I know how that would go, the battles I would face, forever running but losing this race, were it not for grace.
God’s grace to me during that time was overwhelming.
How precious is the Lord!
Did you kiss the Son this morning?
