That is silly! Yup, it is! “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” Proverbs17: 22. You talk to yourself, so you might as well talk to the moon! Laugh, giggle and chuckle at life.
Here are some Bible verses that I chuckle at:
When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken. Deuteronomy 24:5
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? Genesis 17:17
Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? Genesis 18:12
(We know what all the ladies are thinking…I’m glad it’s her and not me!)
And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Jonah 2:10 Just think…you were just sitting down to a nice picnic lunch at the beach!
During some very low points in my life, I came across the humorous books of Barbara Johnson: Splashes of Joy in the Cesspools of Life, Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy, Pack Up Your Gloomies in a Great Big Box, Then Sit on the Lid and Laugh! Mama Get the Hammer! There's a Fly on Papa's Head! (Those are just the ones I read! She has many, many more outrageously funny books!)
Animals are amusing to watch. Our cat, Jefferson, believes he can take us down! I saw a funny poster of a kitten (which looks a lot like our cat) and above him in the clouds is the image of a grown tiger. The title of the poster, “Dream Big!” Our cat “Dreams Big!” He has taken (almost) permanent residence on the top of my husband’s favorite chair! He puts out a paw to all we cross his path! I am thankful that his front paws are declawed! He loves to “attack”! My daughter, comes homes and says, “Meow, were home!” He greets us with a meow and then a long paw stretch, like a cat high-five! I am so thankful to our Creator who created the animals to make us laugh and smile!
I stumbled upon a web site that amused me for a while. It was Clairol.com., Try it on Studio. You could download your own picture and then try on new hairstyles and hair color! Well, I had some good laughs at myself! I sent a picture by e-mail to my husband and he laughed. When I looked at it, I said, “ heh, wait a minute, that was supposed to be a “good” one!”
Have you had laughter today? I mean a good, hearty, ho-ho-ho?
