What say you Oh wretched man that I am?
Who are you and from where do you come?
What right do you have and whose rights do you give?
When were you made lord over my worldly desires?
Control? When was it passed on to you?
Righteousness? By what right did you earn it?
Proclamation? Who cries out your name?
Centered? Who died and made you God?
What do you seek? Treasures of this earth or of heaven?
Whom do you serve? Men or God Man?
When are you important? When you’re seated at the highest or
When you have served with the lowest?
Where does your confidence lie? In rumors of death and war or
In the very breath that gives life?
The inner man fights, denying the truth that shares joy.
Disciplined character is traded for chaos and folly.
Possessed knowledge is trampled with pearls from days gone by.
Love, ah love, Oh how wonderful I AM?
Selfishness, selfishness, how misery feeds upon thee.
Determining to rule and reign without Thy sovereignty.
