Early morning pre-dawn light
Defines clearly the image
Of my father’s picture taken years ago
Vividly showing his physical traits and facial features.
Holding fast the frame
Focusing intently at his picture
I notice
His nose, his eyes, his lips
Defined in stark reality.
My face is so much like his!
How I have seen certain lines and creases
Etched across my face
One there
One over there
Amazing!
Those are exactly in the same places
On my face!
Now I see my face
Differently.
Gazing into the mirror
I see with new revelation
That in my face
Is my father’s eyes winking
Back at me reminding me
Of God’s infinite love
Duplicated from my father
To me.
