No lukewarm's
Something recently happened that I have to write about, things of this nature actually have been on my mind a lot lately.
I was minding my own business on line and got an IM from some guy. He said he was a Christian and wanted to know if I minded chatting even though he was somewhat younger than me. Well, being a good natured person and always willing to share in talking about the Lord, I figured O.K. Well, as it turned out, what this kid wanted was to have cyber sex! Which amazes me since I had just got done telling him that I am a Pastor and married to boot! I said, "but I thought you said you were Christian?" His response was that he is, but he's also human. Well no kidding, maybe a little too fleshly would have been more accurate.
What ever happened to people who claim to be children of God walking the walk? Why are there so many that are sitting on the fence, one foot on either side? Some think I am a fanatical, holy rolling, bible thumbing, not of this world freak. Matthew 6:24 clearly states that we cannot serve two masters. In Revelation it spoke about a church being neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm. And it clearly stated that if we are lukewarm, He spits us out. The last thing I would want is to be spit out by God!
Yes, we live in this world, but we are not to be "of" this world. We are new creations. I am not the perfect Christian, who is? But I strive to be the best I can and to serve God in whatever way He chooses for me to do so. I know there are certain things that I can no longer do, places I no longer can go, and I wouldn't want to anyway. If I try and live the way God wants me to and be a witness for those around me, but yet I still do things of the world than that blows my witness and gives God a bad rap.
Either we are for Him or against Him. I don't believe that there is room for any gray area there. That seems to be the biggest problem for many. They want a little bit of both worlds; God's and man's, and it just cannot be so. We cannot please the Spirit if we are living for the flesh. It's like mixing water and oil. If you decide to live for God, the way He wants you too, then you are going to have to do it all the way, if not, why bother? This is one area that breaks my heart to see self proclaimed Christians living in a way that brings sorrow and shame to the name of Christ.
If you want to call me a radically saved, holy rolling, bible thumping, fanatical Christian, then PRAISE THE LORD, that means I'm doing it right!
Bless you today and always.
