“Listen to the Silence”

Listen to the silence.
It may be all you hear.
In a world of turmoil,
Know the Master’s near.

Listen to the silence
In times when you’re alone,
For He will speak softly
To tell you, you’re His own.

Listen to the silence
When life seems so insane.
His whisper in the darkness
Is calling out your name.

Listen to the silence
The secrets He will share
The knowing of His presence
He’s with you everywhere.

Listen to the silence
In it you will be free
Made whole by His great love
In listening you will see.

If we could ever learn that God is in the silence, and not in the screaming and shouting. We can scream and we can shout, but oh, the joy we know when it comes from listening to the silence. Lovely and true!

Even those whose homes are full and who live in very congested cities can "listen to the silence." We must all learn to tune our "inner ears" and "hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
