Paper in hand, pencil raised
The question has me amazed
Do I want to give my heart
so another can be saved?
I've never been a donor
Never checked the answer yes
But now with the end so near
It has new significance
When my last breath fades away
And Jesus comes into view
Will it matter if I shared my heart
to bring another through?
Giving my heart
Is what I'm here for
To give it away
is the call of the Lord
Giving my heart
Is what I'm here for
Yes, it will matter
If I've not shared my heart
Spilled out every chamber
Given away every part
If your heart is failing
And you're losing the fight
Let me lend you my own
It's been filled with God's light
It was once scarred and weak
Loaded up with deceit
But now the blood of Another
Flows through and it's cleaned
Heart donor
Heart donor
Sharing the life of the Lord
Seeing the dying fully restored
Giving my heart
Is what I'm here for
To give it away
is the call of the Lord
Giving my heart
Is what I'm here for
Yes, giving my heart
Is what I'm here for

I really liked your thought, here. In the beginning, we don't have a clue as to what being a 'heart donor' means. It is a very painful process. A heart that is not dead,(denied) cannot be donated.) The rewards of donating a heart are out of this world! And to think we can be a donor, over and over again! Thank God for his GRACE that stooped down to each of us, so we could hand over our heart and say, "Here it is. Do as you wish." Hey, I didn't mean to write a mini-book!
