“Show us your mercy
and grant us your grace.”
He did and we spat
in His face.
“Send us a sign 0 God
for we are lost.”
He did and we gave
Him a cross.
“Give us a place
in your kingdom in the sky.”
He did and we pierced
a sword in His side.
“Save us 0 Lord, Our
God from the pain of our soul.”
He did and we casted
lots for His majestic robe.
“Forgive us for we
are lowly and weak.”
He did and we put nails
in His hands and feet.
Again and again He heard
and answered our pleas.
He asked only we
hear and believe.
Many were saved and heard
His sweet call.
And for this we gave him
a drink of bitter gaul.
For sins of the many
and faith of the few;
for this He sent His son
to die for me and you.
