I studied long for what I know,
On streets and in the woods;
BOTH schools lacked 'creditation
But curriculums were GOOD!
I learned to make a slingshot,
Awhistle and a sled...
So many times, wild berries
A hungry boy have fed!
I learned of plants that I could eat,
And those that I could 'smoke'...
Of how to tell the trees apart;
The maple, birch and oak.
I hunted squirrels and rabbits,
Then fished the streams in Spring;
Sold catfish to the rest'raunts
For what money they would bring.
"Respect for ALL Creation."
"Apply the Golden Rule."
Are just a bit of what I learned....
At 'a different kind of school.'
