"Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ; that you may be married to another-to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.”
Did you read that? Read it again.
“Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ; that you may be married to another-to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.”
That just said that because we have died to the law and now we are under the promise. We are married to Jesus, who was raised from the dead, that we may bear Fruit to God, our Father who loved us so!
We ARE the Bride that is talked about constantly in the New Testament. We are married to Him that was sent down on earth to teach us how to live. We are married to Him that bore our sins as He died on the cross. We are married to Him that bridged the gap from us to God. We are married to Him that rose for our justification. We are married to Him that left us with fulfilling the Great Commission before He rose to sit on the right hand of the Father. We, as single folk are married to Christ!
If this does not raise your spirit, then there is nothing that will. Take a moment and think about this.
When it says that we are married to Jesus, it is saying that we as saved, single saints have entered into an intimate relationship where we are seeking to know more of Jesus. It is saying that we love the Lord, with all our mind, heart, soul and spirit. It is saying that we desire to do everything in our power to keep Him delighted in us. It is saying that we are in love with Jesus. It is saying that we love Jesus unconditionally. That there is nothing He can do that will stop us from loving Him. It is saying that He is the best friend that we cold ever have. It is saying that we can go to Him with all things and lay it all at His feet and He will give us the comfort and peace we crave, knowing that He has it all under control. It is saying that we can talk to Him about anything and trust the counsel He gives us. Also knowing that we will not have to worry about Him telling Tom, Dick and Harry what we told Him. I can go on and on about this, but I think you have the message about what I am trying to get across to you.
It is also ultimately saying is that we have entered into a covenant with Jesus that He is the only One we will have our eyes on. He has made promises to us that only He can fulfill. He will be the One we obey. He will be the only One to take care of us. When I say that, I mean that He will supply all of our needs. He has prepared a table for us before our enemies. He will meet all of our needs. He will feed and clothe us. He will teach us all we need to know. We can drink from His cup of life everlasting as we watch our cup pour over from all the blessings.
Bless, praise and worship the Lord with all your might as you run on and celebrate knowing that you are the Bride of Christ. Bask in all that He has in store for you as you begin your lives with Christ, where each day will be sweeter then the day before.
