Commitment
At a recent missionary conference, I was challenged by the older people who were retiring or coming up to their last term of service after 20, 30 or 40 years of service. It was also interesting to hear the young ones speak so enthusiastically about all that was ahead of them, and all they hoped to achieve for God. Having taken ‘time out’ from my overseas work for a while, and sitting with a cappuccino at my favourite café in the world (my favourite because of the view), I penned these words.
Time marches on.
Circumstances change.
We started well.
But when pressure comes,
Froth disappears.
Real substance endures.
That’s commitment.
