He slams his fist through the window of an SUV,
Grabs the stereo and a few CDs,
And then he’s gone.
Her friend says, “Here, try some of this,”
She almost says no, but then she gives,
And reaches out her hand.
He leads her to his room and he closes the door.
He says, “You’re mine tonight,” and she looks at the floor.
But she says, “Alright.”
It’s getting late and he’s got to run.
Going out with the guys, so he grabs his gun.
After all, he’s a man.
There’s just one thing they need to be told:
Somebody died so they could say no.
And if they could see Him…
He is crying, cause He is trying
To reach them with His love.
He wants to hold them- He needs you to show them
There is hope from above.
He’s already done all that He can do:
Now it’s up to me and you
To find them.
We have to find them.
Looking through tears she holds the razor to her wrist.
She never really thought it would come to this
-But it’s almost over.
He looks at the glass and starts to shake his head,
But he wonders what harm one sip ever did.
So he takes the glass.
She touches her stomach wondering what she’s done:
She thought they were just going to have some fun.
Now her world is ending.
Someone told him to move it and he didn’t go:
Pulled out a gun and now he’s on parole.
-And he doesn’t care.
Jesus wants so much to save their souls,
But first someone has to be willing to go
And tell them.
That He is crying, cause He is trying
To reach them, right where they are.
He wants to hold them, He needs you to show them
There is hope- they’re not too far.
He’s already done all that He can do:
Now it’s up to me and you
To find them.
We have to find them.
“Does God really care?” she thinks in the middle of the night.
Does He see the tears hit the pillow she’s holding so tight?
The answer is YES.
And He too is crying, cause He is trying
To reach her with His love.
He wants to hold her, He needs you to show her
There is hope, even for her.
He’s already done all that He can do:
Now it’s up to me and you
To find them.
We have to find them.
Kyrie... remember li'l ol' me when this hits big? :::wink::: This is chilling, real world stuff that nobody wants to look at, and it's a cry from the throne of grace to preach the gospel of Love to a hurting world of people. And how better to reach them but by music? I pray some really good, bold musicians that can grab people's attention with a ear-catching beat get hold of these lyrics and take them into both the Christian AND the secular world. I see multitudes of young people giving their hearts to Christ through these lyrics! I pray for a divine increase of exposure for this piece. May the Lord's blessings be highly concentrated on you and the words He puts on your heart to share with us!
Hi Denise, I agree with Joyce! I know these words sure stirred my heart and makes one grieve in the spirit for anyone who is going through something like this. I too believe these words will really minister to the hearts that they are meant for. Blessings, Sharon
