Marriage
I remember when I was a child how much I loved to read....after that first visit to the library soon after I learned to read, I couldn't get enough of books, I read everywhere and all the time. I would read outside in the daytime, I'd read in the living room when it rained, but the times that got me in trouble were when I tried to extend my reading time into the time when I should have been asleep.
At first I snuck a flashlight into my room, and read by its light under the covers, but I was found out, and that cozy option was gone, so then I discovered a new way, one that if I was quiet, no one would every find out about. I'd slip out of bed with my book in my hand and tiptoe over to my window, and sit down on the floor and sit my book on the sill, and read by the light of the street lamp outside. The light was not the best, but I was determined to read every minute I could, so each night I crept to that window, and read to my hearts content.
I think of our love when I remember that time...and the feelings are just like they were then.....I cannot get enough of the love that we share, and every day I try to crowd just a few more minutes in. I want to be with you in the daytime, sharing little things outside in the sun, and together with you when the weather is stormy, for being with you inside is just as much fun.
And each evening I wish for a few minutes more, before letting this day be done....to spend a little more time, holding hands or in your arms to just savor the joy that the two of us are now one.
I thank God each morning when I wake, and each night before I sleep, for giving me this gift of love....and I delight in spending every hour of the day finding more special words to say, different loving things to do, to show my love for you in every way.
Like reading by flashlight under the covers, or by the window in the light from the street lamp, there is nothing that will stop me pursuing you....for the love I have is given me by God, and I must find a few more minutes, one more way before the day is done, to give this treasure of love in my heart and once more, give it all to you.

Trish, I enjoyed reading your words today. My husband is taking a few days off this week, it has been nice to have the gift of extra time. You really put my feeling in beautiful words, if only I could add just a little more time. Much Love, Rita
