Each Stitch A Circle Of Love

I was thinking this morning of the new project I've started - this time in knit not crochet, and as I work, it reminds me so much of our love, the pattern becoming clearer with each passing day.

First comes the ribbing that makes up the bottom band, neck and cuffs.... and this is what gives the edges the ability to stretch and then bounce back. Our love is like that; it stretches to cover any trouble and pain, and then bounces back again.

God built that into the pattern of the love He gave to us, one stitch forward, one stitch back, so that one of us is strong when the other is weak, and together there is nothing that we lack.

Further along in the pattern, the stitches become the same, repeated endlessly to complete each row.... but though they are the same, each one brings us closer to each other, each stitch a circle of love with no beginning and no end.

Then comes the wonderful part, for this pattern is not to be the same every day...there is a new element that is added, new discoveries we make along the way. A new color is added to the pattern we already know.... it is a lighter brighter one that adds new interest, it makes it glow.

The stitches made with the new color seem random, there is no new picture that we can see, but like God working in our lives and our love, we trust in Him to help us be all we can be.

As I work on the sweater, adding in the new color to the work, I have to use a chart that tells me where to put the stitches. Each row completed helps create the picture, a work of art coming to life in my hands.

I think of our life, and the love that we share, and I see God's pattern emerging, a little more each day...for He's given us the chart for our lives that we can follow, given in love, stitched in faith with the needles of prayer.

And oh what a joy it is to be with you, as we knit together our two lives into one...knowing that our love is so true.... and every day you give your heart to me, and I give mine to you.

Good Morning, Trish! This is very beautiful! What a reminder of our Father's great "thought-out" plan...one is strong while the other is weak. God is so good to stitch us with our mates in and with a circle of love. God bless and have a beautiful day.

Trish, "He's given us the chart for our lives that we can follow, given in love, stitched in faith with the needles of prayer." What a neat thought! Much love, Rita
