Come, rest awhile put up your feet;
Sit back, relax and take a break....
I’ll introduce; want you to meet
The One who taught me, for my sake.
The lesson that He taught me here
Was one that set me free indeed
For I’m a branch that fruit should bear
And not the vine, the branch does feed.
“I am the Vine” the Master taught;
My Father is the one that cares
For branch, and vine. It’s he who brought
The harvest from the fruit it bears.
How oft’, my reader have you tried
To bring forth fruit on own accord?
And in your own strength have relied
To hopefully find some reward?
The branch: it cannot bear apart
From vine to which it is attached.
And so it is with your own heart
If from the Master it’s detached.
His grace toward’s us does abound.
For when in Him we will abide,
And fruit is on our branches found;
The Father will be glorified.
Again the Master here will tell
That when in Him we will abide
And all His words remember well
We need but ask, he will provide.
The Master gave the reason too;
His love to us, you will recall;
These things that I have said to you
Are that your joy may be made full.
“Abide in Me, and I in you”
The Master beckons us to rest,
And cease from strife, for when we do
He gives to us the very best.

Amen! And with that sweet, comforting message, I do believe I shall call it a night and carry myself to rest... And something tells me that I'll be rocked into a gentle slumber by the very One I abide in. THANK YOU! Thank you so much for sharing!!
