Lavish me with your love
spoil me with your time
feed me your attention
I'm starving for my family
The fancy wrapping
ribbons and bows
cannot touch
the love lost betweeen us
as each year passes
and I know you less and less
How I long to be a part of your lives
Yet there is no room
in full schedules and treasured friends
I pray words are enough
and often times they get me through
scraps thrown from your
feast of life
Yet actions are a thing of the past
if they ever were
Desiring to cling to my lifeblood
yet finding no solace
in its momentary embrace
I turn to my new family
brothers and sisters
saved by the blood of the lamb
that hold me in their arms
that look into my eyes
and want to know how I really am
that desire to spend time
with me
fit me into their
busy lives
because I'm important to them
We feast on fellowship,
Christ's love, and
being there for eachother
in this lifetime
